Schneider Electric has established a strong foothold in China’s market over the past 31 years. Currently, Schneider Electric has developed into an industry leader providing whole life cycle energy solutions in key markets including building, data center, industry and infrastructure, from the original middle low voltage power distribution and industrial automation provider.

Schneider Electric established its first joint-venture factory, under the brand Merlin Gerin, in Tianjin in 1987. The most outstanding contribution made by Schneider Electric in that period was to bring circuit breaker technology into China, replacing the traditional fuse. This move greatly enhanced power safety and eventually set new standards for breakers in China.

As China’s markets opened up to the world in the 1990s, Schneider Electric accelerated its expansion in China. In recent years, with well-rounded experience in energy efficiency management, Schneider Electric has stood out from the crowd in many important domestic and international activities.

Priorities for future development: continuously innovate to promote the digital transformation of energy management and automation

In 2017, Schneider Electric introduced its new generation of EcoStruxure™, the IoT-enabled, plug-and-play, open architecture and platform. It delivers end-to-end solutions in six domains of expertise – Power, IT, Building, Machine, Plant and Grid – for four end markets, Building, Data Center, Industry and Infrastructure, powering the digital transformation of customers and partners.

The newest generation of EcoStruxure evolving from its original type has become a digital ecology with a complete three-tier architecture which integrates specialized technologies. Till now, EcoStruxure has been deployed in 480,000+ sites, with the support of 20,000+ system integrators and developers, connecting over 1.6 million assets under management in the cloud.

Fulfilling social responsibility to promote sustainable development
Schneider Electric regards sustainable development as its core of strategy. While promoting economic development, Schneider Electric will continue to fulfill and assume its social responsibilities, including those in a wide range of aspects involving both innovation and business.

The Planet and Society Barometer
In 2005, Schneider Electric introduced an instrument for measuring the internal performance in sustainable development through the “Planet & Society barometer”. By setting three types of indicators (environment and society, profits, personnel), Schneider Electric measures the indicators each quarter to quantitatively evaluate the sustainable development level of the company, and take the necessary improvement measures, in order to obtain better sustainable development performance. Reaching a total score of 9.58/10 at the fourth quarter of 2017, Schneider Electric exceeds its barometer target of 9/10 for the quarter.

As a global innovative public welfare project, BipBop aims to look into a new personnel training mode featuring greater interaction between enterprises, vocational education and coordinated development. It helps young people in need become professionals in industrial automation, high-end manufacturing, energy management and other industries. In China, since 2009, BipBop has carried out numerous vocational education aid projects, undergraduate public welfare scholarship programs, off-grid village new energy assistance programs, as well as rural electrician training programs successively. At present, through partnership with more than 40 schools, the “BipBop Vocational Education Program” has provided more than 2,000 hours of compulsory training to over 160 teachers, benefiting a total number of more than 15,000 students.

Employee Volunteer Program
In 2010, Schneider Electric formally established a volunteer team consisting of nearly 1,000 employees, college students and partners, who visited migrant schools, disaster area schools and families, child welfare homes, and a Xinjiang off-grid village. As of the end of 2017, more than 8,000 people have participated in volunteer services. They have contributed more than 40,000 hours to serve more than 500,000 people, directly and indirectly.

Child Development Project
Schneider Electric has been committed to caring for children in poverty-stricken areas and creating better conditions for child development. Over the years, Schneider Electric has supported children’s early education, carried out training for the safe use of electricity, and initiated book donations amongst other projects in less well-off areas in China’s Midwest.

Disaster Aid
Through the disaster aid program, Schneider Electric provides emergency aid and reconstruction support to areas suffering from major natural disasters.

University Programs
In order to support China’s higher education and promote electrical related personnel training and scientific research innovation, Schneider Electric launched a number of university cooperation programs in 2006, aiming to help universities build joint laboratories with industry characteristics. These joint laboratories would strengthen the cooperation between Schneider Electric and universities in talent cultivation and innovative R&D, improve the teaching quality in universities, as well as conduct cutting-edge technology knowledge exchanges, in a bid to present youthful talents with more support and a broader space for development.

Schneider Electric has established cooperation with 21 universities throughout China, building a number of joint laboratories across 11 industries like electric power, metallurgy, petroleum and building. Each year, nearly 10000 students and teachers carry out learning or scientific research in the laboratories, which have played a huge role in supporting China’s personnel training and innovation.

90年代初,施耐德电气旗下品牌奇胜率先将开关面板带入中国, 结束了中国使用灯绳开关的时代。

践行社会责任 助力可持续发展
施耐德电气将可持续发展作为战略核心,在推动经济发展的同时, 始终不忘履行和承担社会责任,并贯穿于创新与业务的方方面面。




目前,在国家部委和地方政府的支持下,施耐德电气已经与63所职业技术学校合作,建设电气技术,智能照明、智能制造实训中心,提供了1000多个课时的专业课程,为203名教师提供了培训, 受益学生超过26000人。

“碧播”这个词源于英文BipBop,是“Business、Innova¬tion、People、Bottom of the Pyramid”几个词的首字母。在中国,自2009年起,碧播计划先后开展了职业教育资助项目(如百年职校战略合作项目)、大学生公益奖学金项目、无电村新能源援助项目和乡村电工培训项目。通过这些项目的实施,施耐德电气希望为中国无电地区的家庭带来光明,为贫困的青少年带来学习和就业的希望。

2010 年,施耐德电气正式成立志愿者组织,形成了由员工、高校大学生和合作伙伴组成的近千人的志愿者队伍,多次走访慰问打工子弟学校、灾区学校及学生家庭、儿童福利院、新疆无电村等。截止2017年底,已有超过8000人次参与志愿服务,累计贡献超过4 万小时,直接及间接服务人群超过50万人。
