Our flagship Long An plant provides world class manufacturing facilities together with a distribution center located in Binh Tan district, HCMC which was upgraded and relocated in July, 2015. Due to continuing growth our latest investment is a modern distribution center in Bac Ninh. The Avery Dennison Foundation (AD Foundation) leads the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts. AD Foundation supports three main areas: Education, Sustainability and Women’s Empowerment.

Our employees in Avery Dennison Vietnam have engaged themselves in supporting local communities over the years. As one of the major projects in 2018, the Vietnam team organized the Bike to School program with Dai Dong Secondary School in North Vietnam. On a regular basis, our employees in Vietnam are also taking care of children in a local orphanage in Mui Ne.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
With many of Avery Dennison’s solutions made from paper, maintaining a sustainable paper supply is vital to achieving our long-term sustainability goals. We aim to use 100% FSC-Certified paper for all of our products by the year 2025. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is a key partner in our journey to leaving the planet in better condition than we found it.

AD Foundation has recently approved an initial $100,000 USD grant to the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Singapore to support the Forest Owners Sustainable Development Association of Thua Thien-Hue province in Vietnam.

GHG AND WASTE REDUCTION IN VIETNAM
Our Vietnam site tackles GHG and waste aggressively. The Maintenance team identified opportunities to reduce the site’s electricity consumption, from installing an automatic valve to separating lamps and heaters, and shutting off production air-conditioners during meal time. After just seven months, their efforts resulted in a savings of 1,113,270 kwh, equaling 634 tons of CO2 emulsion!

In addition, our HR and Admin teams launched many initiatives like “Give Your Bottles” campaign to reduce single-use plastics, a “Grow More Green” effort to raise community awareness about plastic waste, a “Sustainable September” community volunteer activity, and much more.

GO GREEN WITH MANGROVE PLANTING
The Vietnam team organized a tree planting activity in support of the annual Sustainable September Campaign. At Can Gio, the team planted mangrove tree saplings in support of restoring the ecosystem.

The Can Gio Mangrove Forest has been recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2000, and is immersed in the space of 700 hectares with rich natural diversity.
