Jobvite’s annual Social Recruiting Survey found that despite LinkedIn’s special focus as a professional social networking site, many job seekers still preferred to use Facebook. They found that 79% of recruiters had successfully hired someone using LinkedIn, followed by Facebook at 26%, and Twitter at 14%. A majority of job seekers on the other hand (83%) used Facebook to in their job hunts. There has been a rise in the use of social media for recruiting after findings revealed that the quality and quantity of candidates improved after social recruitment was implemented in companies.
