China’s employed population in urban areas increased by 3.44 million in the first quarter of 2014, with the unemployment rate remaining low, the country’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security said. The stable job increase and low unemployment rate had been attributed to three factors, including improved economic structure, simplified administration and pro-employment measures. The improved structure and expanding economy allowed China to create more jobs for each percentage point of increase despite the fact that the growth rate is falling.
